  • Based at The Winston Churchill School, Radio Woking features a vast array of specialist programmes and features not heard on commercial or national radio – all with a real local flavour.

Radio Woking is about giving you an alternative to the mainstream.  It’s not trying to be something for everyone every minute of the day, it’s about listening to a show that interests you.  Hopefully many shows will find your interest across our broad selection of programmes, which you can see here

We started broadcasting as a school station called Yay Radio, set up with the help of Eagle Radio.  Yay ran for a very successful two years featuring some very talented students from the school.  The school invested in some new studios for recording and production, and the idea of starting a community radio station was born.

Unlike Yay Radio, Radio Woking not only features the school’s student presenters but also presenters from the local community, allowing the station to broadcast much longer hours.  Our presenters have a wide range of interests and backgrounds, like the shows they broadcast.  Meet our presenters here

Radio Woking can be heard across the boroughs of Woking and Rushmoor on our DAB Digital Radio Transmitters and all over the whole world via the internet.  Our DAB transmitter broadcasts to the areas in red on the map below.

This area covers in excess of 187,400 people, however this doesn’t include our internet listeners who listen from around the UK and  world each week.

Listeners that fall outside our DAB Transmission area or don’t have a DAB radio, can choose to listen online here.

We have some great advertising opportunities available with very respectable and competitive rates.  For further information please contact the team

Did you know that Radio Woking is the home of Pride in Surrey’s: Proud show? You can tune in to that show every Sunday 2-4pm
